In watching the game against San Francisco last week I was reminded again of how Donald Driver is a lunchpail guy. A lunchpail guy is not something everyone can be. Some guys bring a few bucks with them and buy the hot lunch. Others get in their cars and drive to McDonalds at lunch. Donald Driver is not on eof those guys. He’s a lunchpail guy. Every Sunday he shows up on time, lunchpail in hand, ready to go to work. He did it again last week, showing he still had horsepower driving his wheels, zipping across Candlestick with a 68 yard pass play from Favre.

The guy takes a beating, yet you never see him alligator-arming a tight pass or dodging a hit at the expense of making the catch. When Favre played in Oakland after his father passed, you’d have thought Driver was playing for Favre’s lost father, too, snatching from the sky anything that even looked like it was made from leather.

Driver leads almost every category for receivers in the NFC North. The stats for Driver versus the top receivers for every other team in our division are as follows:

Donald Driver Green Bay Packers 73 catches for 1,103 yards and 7 touchdowns
Muhsin Muhammad Chicago Bears 50 catches for 687 yards and 5 touchdowns
Roy Williams Detroit Lions 69 catches for 1,116 yards and 4 touchdwons
Travis Taylor Minnesota Vikings 45 catches for 507 yard and 1 touchdown (Wow, does the Viking offense suck!)

So when it comes time to make pro bowl selections, make sure you cast a vote for the Lunchbox Hero.
