I should let it go. But I can’t.
Tiki’s homerism and sparse reason and objectivity are forcing my hand.
Tiki’s Giants, considered by one (Tiki) to be the best in the NFC just a few weeks ago will be attending this year’s playoff gala. In doing so, they will be the worst 10-5 team to make the dance.
Of their 10 wins, only one came against a team that even has a chance of making the playoffs (the Redskins have to win this week to get in). The remaining teams and their records?
Philadelphia Eagles (2x) 7-8
New York Jets 3-12
Atlanta Falcons 3-12
San Francisco 49ers 5-10
Miami Dolphins 1-14
Detroit Lions 7-8
Chicago Bears 6-9
Buffalo Bills 7-8
That’s a combined record of 39-81. A win percentage of less than 33%.
Against teams going into the playoffs, they are 0-4 (if you count the Redskins as playoff-bound). And don’t forget they just got off the lap of the Minnesota Vikings, a team that won’t make the playoffs but laid a wood-paddle spanking on the Giants 41-17.
Yup. They are the team to beat. If they’re playing against your highschool team.
Tiki, your style and football brilliance are singular.
Oh - And the Packers records against playoff teams this year? 3-1. And Minnesota was our lap dog 2x this season.
