Brett Favre Has Landed
Posted in Players and Personnel
In what can only be described as a dramatic turn of events, Brett Favre arrived at Green Bay’s Austin Straubel airport tonight at around 7pm, accompanied by his wife Deanna, ready to compete for the Packer’s starting quarterback job that he’s owned for the previous sixteen years.
Skeptics are trying to figure out just what the hell has happened in the last 72 hours that this has even become possible. Did Mark Murphy review his contract and discover he has a Jerry Jones clause, allowing him the freedom to screw with personnel moves as much as he pleases, superseding anything coach McCarthy and GM Thompson say or do? It seems that soon after his name began appearing in reports, Favre was on a plane. Is Favre really going to be on a level playing ground, or is this part of a master plan to get him some camera time throwing balls, showing commitment, to make him more tradeable?
Whatever. Like I said, I’m all in for as ugly as it’s going to get. Favre’s in Green Bay, and will report to camp on Monday. Game on.
Oh, and Appleton Post-Crescent and Green Bay Press Gazette? Pwned.
