And Then Reggie White Rolled Over in His Grave
Posted in NFC North
“I’ve never felt this way before.”
“Except of course for the last time I felt this way. But this time it’s special, babe.”
Just like I told that little hottie at the bar before I showed her my magnums, Brett Favre is pretty sure he’s never felt this way before. “This is the best team I’ve ever been on” said Favre at the St. Louis post-game presser, after throwing one touchdown and one pick against the winless Rams.
This comes just two short years after Favre was quoted as saying the very same thing about his Green Bay Packers. And thirteen years after the team that won the Superbowl.
The team that had Desmond Howard returning kicks. You know, the year he won the Superbowl MVP.
And Robert Brooks, Antonio Freeman, Andre Rison, Mark Chmura, Keith Jackson and Don Beebe catching passes.
The one with Reggie White, that guy who once had 21 sacks in one season. Pretty sure Jared Allen hasn’t touched that one yet. And Gilbert Brown. Santana Dotson. LeRoy Butler. Sean Jones.
Minnesota - you’re sounding a lot like Joni Mitchell lately. But remember - Brett Favre is a rambler and a gambler and a sweet talkin’ football man. He’ll be tellin’ his next team that there’s never been anybody like them, too.
