Things I Don’t Know About Yesterday’s Game
Posted in Any Given Sunday
I caught a few minutes of the game as we drove through Slinger, on the way home from visiting family over Christmas.
And then when I got home, the score was 38-3. Not worth watching at that point. I know, fair weather fan, right? Deal with it.
But there are questions that are still lingering in my head. Questions I need answers for. Such as:
Is Aaron Rodgers still waiting until the last possible moment to unload the ball? Shooting a paltry 12 for 23 tells me that yeah, he might be.
Was the offensive line any less offensive? Yes, they’ve been better of late, and it’s been hard to tell who we should be blaming for the sometimes poor completion percentages: The O-line for not giving Rodgers enough time, Rodgers for not being able to make reads fast enough and deliver pinpoint strikes, or…
Did the wide receivers shed their hands of lead they’ve put on display lately? Holding onto only 12 of 23 tells me not so much.
Has Atari Bigby finally showed up for a game? 2 picks. Looks like yes.
Were Woodson and Matthews dominant on D? Not really, but the stat sheet says they pulled their weight.
Did the Green Bay Packer Bikini Girls make an appearance yesterday? Did they finally show a bit more skin? (please send links or pics to answer this one, please)
Are the Packers a real threat to make a run into the playoffs beyond the wildcard game?
The jury’s still out on that one, methinks.

Dude? Where?
i just have to comment on a blog for a school project so this is my comment
Aim high, my friend. Aim high.
Has Favre ever spoke about Green Bay since leaving?
Has he ever mentioned what he thinks of the Packers?
I had heard a few times that he has said he wouldn’t even have wanted to keep playing in GB with or without the drama with the coach and GM.
It’s interesting you mention that - much earlier in the season Troy Aikman hypothesized that very thing. That maybe Favre didn’t want to come back even if he was welcomed with open arms. And maybe that’s true.
It’s crazy to think how one guys image, amongst the fans, can change that quickly.
I remember the feeling of how proud I was to have him as our quarterback. Such a tough, selfless guy who always gave it his best. My mind would flash back to the game against Denver when in overtime he throw that game winning pass to Jennings…..
and now it’s all gone.
Saying things like, “this is the best team I ever played for”…. when the Vikings were nowhere near as dominating as the 95-96 Packers when beating their opposition.
I’m glad Leroy Butler isn’t tightlipped when it comes to speaking his feelings on Brett.
Let’s say the Vikings lose to the Giants this weekend. What could Tavaris Jackson be possibly thinking? This team when 6-10, then 8-8 and. Tavaris gets to play in week 13 in the 06 season (when they went 6-10).
Team gets alittle better in 07. Then in 08 he helps the team to a 10-6 record and a trip to the post season.
09 comes along and Brett Favre gets the nod and Jackson (the young and developing player) gets the bench. If the Vikings lose this weekend they’ll end the season 11-5, one game better with that future hall of famer than the growing T.Jackson. Big whoop.
If I were Jackson I’d want out of there. Just like Rodgers had to sit in the background as the drama queen got his way, now another developing talent has to suffer the same fate. Worse yet, he knows there’s close to no chance, because if the coach can’t even get this guy off of the field what hope is there?
