Cousins Subs on Oneida near Lambeau FieldI had the pleasure of taking a family outing to the Tundra Lodge recently (which just about sits in the shadow of Lambeau Field), and after the water-splashing festivities, we stopped in at the Cousins Sub shop on 2201 S. Oneida Street (see pic) for some food.

Rightly so, the walls were covered with Packer memorabilia, including hats, jerseys, pom-pons, and pictures. One of the pictures contained the Green Bay Packers fight song, so I snapped a photo and thought I’d share it with you.

The song was written by Eric Karll in 1931, and is the oldest professional football fight song on the planet:

Go, You Packers, Go!

Hail, hail the gang’s all here to yell for you, And keep you going in your winning ways,

Hail, hail the gang’s all here to tell you too, That win or lose, we’ll always sing your praises

Packers; Go, you Packers, go and get ’em, Go, you fighting fools upset ’em,

Smash their line with all your might, A touchdown, Packers, Fight, Fight, Fight, Fight! On, you Blue and

Gold, to glory, Win this game the same old story, Fight, you Packers, Fight, and bring the bacon home

to Ooooooolllllld Greeeeeeeeeen Baaaaaaaaaaaaaay.

So the next time you’re in Lambeau or in front of your TV, singing the fight song, be sure to send some positive wishes to the little sub shop on Oneida St. for helping bring the fight song to the world.

Go, You Packers, Go!
